I've been interested in Smalltalk since seeing Dan Ingalls present a paper on it at POPL'78. I bought the first copy of the blue book I could get my hands on, but I've only been seriously programming in Smalltalk since 1988, longer than most but certainly no pioneer.
I was one of the first Smalltalkers at IBM – along with Rick DeNatale, David N. Smith, Jerry Archibald, and others who will forgive me (or remind me!) for not mentioning them.
My interest in Squeak is purely personal at this point. Nice to see someone put the fun back in programming.
