There is a group of Linux developers called Kernel Janitors that do many small maintenance/cleanup tasks. It's a great place for developers to get their feet wet and make a useful contribution.
I think it would be a great idea to build a list of things that newbies (like me) could do to help out. The big guns make continual progress, but lots of small issues get dropped along the way because they aren't interesting enough.
I guess this is somewhat parallel to the The Harvesters, since they will decide what actually goes in. Janitors can give them enhancements, and fixes. Don't be afraid! - Jeff Sparkes (Jan 2002)

Some initial things to do:
Note that one can help out right away by submitting these improvements to the Squeak Mailing Lists, via the process outlined on the Reporting Bugs and Fixes page. (These types of improvements would be submitted as [ENH]ancements.)
I agree that this page could be a useful place to put maintenance/cleanup tasks. (Bug reports, on the other hand, should be posted to the list instead.) I'm not sure if the Janitors would need to be a specific group... anyone could probably help out. Although maybe it would help to list your name here if you decided to start working on a certain task. Also, a group of Janitors wouldn't conflict with The Harvesters, who have a different purpose. – Doug Way
I didn't mean to imply a formal group, just a page here to communicate. – Jeff
Now that SqueakMap is flourishing, there's a good change for people to remove and repackage small goodies in the image.
