update stream
Last updated at 1:54 am UTC on 26 January 2020
The update stream is the list of updates which can be loaded by any Squeak user to update an .image file to the very latest Squeak version.

To load updates from the Internet, choose 'Update Squeak' from the Squeak menu, or do
 MCMcmUpdater updateFromServer

This is typically done if you're using an alpha or beta release of Squeak, or to get bug fixes that are provided for your Squeak release. It's not as useful if you want to upgrade from one stable version to the next stable version. (e.g from 4.4 final to 4.5 final) In that case it's typically faster to download the newer Squeak version from the ftp site.

You can also use it to keep your image up to date with trunk, the code being developed for the next version of Squeak. To do this, change the Update URL preference from http://source.squeak.org/squeak45 to http://source.squeak.org/trunk.

See Code updates for more details.

What do I do if I break the trunk update stream?
