DPON (Distributed Persistent Object Network) is a distributed framework that supports transparent replicated objects. Currently, remote invocation works for basic tests and some more clever distributed algorithms are on their way.
The eventual goal is to create a usable multi-user desktop environment where objects in that environment could exist anywhere on the Internet in a secure fashion.
