FAQ: Printing Abilities

What kind of printing capabilities does Squeak have?
For literally printing directly from Squeak, there are two approaches:
- There is John McIntosh's PrintJob, which as of Squeak 3.6 is not included in the main distribution.
- There is a primitive method in class Form that allows printing.
Different ports of Squeak support these to different degrees.
Probably, what you really want to do is either:
- use the "export" submenu on the red handle of a morph's Halo. Then you can save a GIF, BMP, or JPEG image that your OS can print for you.
- use the "printing" submenu on the red handle of amorph's Halo, and you can save a postscript file. You can then use your OS facilities to print the postscript file.
The choice is up to you. The image bitmap will be an exact replica of what is on the screen: pixel for pixel and jaggie for jaggie.
