The Squeak Image: What's In It and How To Make It Smaller

Some folks think the .image file contains only compiled code. In fact, there is much more than that. Since everything in Smalltalk is an object, you'll find there are graphical forms, windows on the screen, menus, and all sorts of other interesting objects. In short, when you start up an image, it contains everything that you were doing when you made the snapshot.
