Full Canonical Decomposition
Last updated at 4:33 pm UTC on 9 December 2015
(For Unicode Strings;)

http://www.unicode.org/reports/tr15/#Norm_Forms

To get a Unicode string into NFC or NFD, one does a full canonical decomposition, which makes use of only canonical Decomposition_Mapping values.

The decomposition process makes use of the Unicode Decomposition Mapping property values defined in UnicodeData.txt.

A Full Canonical Decomposition is used in the Unicode main sorting algorithm
