Smalltalk abandonSources
Last updated at 1:44 pm UTC on 16 December 2003
The following command:

Smalltalk abandonSources

disconnects an .image file from its .changes file and its .sources file. This saves space, but of course abandons the original source code for the image. The image is not completely unbrowsable, however; whenever the image needs to show you source code, it will instead use the Decompiler.

Abandoning sources can save you a lot of disk space, but it will make it much less pleasant to develop in the resulting image.
