There are three flavours of Squeak that you can try on OS/2.
- The port by JuanManuelVuletich (Other Squeak ports) at http://jvuletich.org using DIVE. The advantage of using this port is that you don't need to customize OS/2 in order to run it. Sound and networking are supported.
- The straightforward port by Boris Shingarov is actually just a small patch for Jan Piumarta's UNIX port. Networking works, but you need an X server to run the UI.
- Cheese by Boris Shingarov. This is not really a port of Squeak, but a different environment based on native PM widgets (no BitBlt whatsoever). It is very incomplete, and should only be viewed as a proof-of-concept. Don't expect it to have networking or sound.
Boris is no longer maintaining his OS/2 port or Cheese.
