Squeak by Example is a book intended for both students and developers, that guides its readers gently through the Squeak language and environment by means of a series of examples and exercises.

The sources for this edition are maintained in a github repo at https://github.com/hpi-swa-lab/SqueakByExample-english. Contributions towards the next edition are welcome.
- All code examples have been updated to the classes and protocols of Squeak 5.3
- All figures have been updated with the current version of tools
- New sections and paragraphs have been added (e.g. Exceptions, Advanced Tools, Sort Functions)
- Minor corrections in many places.
The first edition was published in 2007 by Square Bracket Associates
